Angel and Jack, a lovely couple from Chicago, visited Boston at the perfect time – right during the peak of fall. The trees in the Boston Public Garden were dressed in vibrant shades of orange, yellow, and red, creating an incredible backdrop for one of the most important moments in their lives.

Jack and I had coordinated everything throughout the week, planning out the perfect moment without Angel suspecting a thing. We didn’t want her to see me before the proposal, so I stayed hidden in the garden, ready to capture every second of their special moment. In a way, I became part of the surprise too!

Jack chose the golden hour to propose, just as the sun was setting and casting a warm, dreamy glow over the park. With the soft light, the scene was truly magical. Surrounded by nature’s beauty, Jack got down on one knee, and with a huge smile, Angel said yes!

After the proposal, we took some time to walk around the garden for an impromptu engagement session. The warm autumn colors paired perfectly with their happiness, making for some truly stunning photos.
It’s moments like these, where I not only get to capture a surprise proposal but also become part of the celebration afterward, that make my job so special. Being that extra surprise for Angel and Jack as I captured their joy made this session even more unforgettable.

Boston in the fall, a sunset proposal, and two people madly in love—what more could you ask for?
